LEAD: The sprawling grid of tract developments and shopping malls that is Fort Collins, Colo., eventually peters out miles from the city’s old cow-town core amid winter-yellow fields and rolling, snow-streaked prairie. Something like half of this land, split-levels and sagebrush alike, is bought and sold through a single Fort Collins real estate company known as The Group Inc.
This is going to be a long one, tbh. So, first off, witchcraft isn’t a religion, just a practice. It’s even in the name! You don’t need to be a pagan or to practice Wicca to be a witch.
Being both a Christian and a witch is pretty simple for me. In addition to going to church on Sunday, participating in communion, and celebrating baptisms, I also burn sage while I pray for wisdom, I make black salt and ask God for protection, and involve lapis lazuli (for truth, understanding, clarity, etc.) when I pray about the Ferguson situation. I use both traditional rituals (like communion and baptism) as well as rituals that fall under the category of witchcraft to worship the Trinity. There are some passages in the Bible that condemn witchcraft, but there are also passages that say “whatever you do, do for the Lord.”
I was seriously drifting away from Christianity because I couldn’t really get behind the traditional ways of doing things. It seemed too impersonal. I felt embarrassed when I prayed or participated in worship. Once I found a different way to praise and worship my Father, everything clicked and now my relationship with Him is better than it ever, ever has been.
tl;dr How could God and I condemn something that brings me closer to Him?
For those who wonder how being a Christian and practicing “witch” craft is possible. <3
